The Diver Manual (Community Guidelines)
Effective Date: Aug 1, 2026

scuba is a space for self-discovery, community building, and authentic human connection. We believe that the healthiest relationships begin with knowing yourself, below the surface.
Our mission is to create a slower, safer, and more intentional alternative to modern online dating. One where people can learn, grow, contribute to their communities, and form genuine connections without pressure or performance.
The Diver Manual exists to help all users – AKA scuba divers! – feel safe, respected, and welcome.
By using scuba, you agree to uphold these principles and help create the kind of community you'd want to dive into yourself.
Note: These guidelines are subject to change. We will notify you of material changes to these Guidelines through the app or by email. Continued use of scuba after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.

The scuba guidelines:
1. Know Yourself First
scuba encourages self-reflection before relationship seeking. Before diving into a connection with someone else, take time to explore what lies beneath your own surface.
Authenticity matters, so we encourage all scuba divers to be honest about where you are on your journey. Whether you're exploring who you are, healing from past experiences, looking for friendship, building community, or seeking a romantic relationship – you’re all welcome here.
You don't need to have everything figured out. You only need to be honest about your intentions.

3. Lead With Kindness
Every person on scuba deserves to be treated with respect.
We expect all scuba divers to communicate with empathy and patience – even when interests, beliefs, lifestyles, or goals differ.
We do not allow harassment or bullying, insults or personal attacks, repeated unwanted contact, shaming, humiliation, or intimidation, manipulative or coercive behavior.
A simple rule applies: Treat people as humans, not profiles.

Enforcement of Our Guidelines
scuba is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming community. Your safety comes first. If there is ever a conflict between an individual member’s wishes and the physical or emotional safety of the broader scuba community, we will always prioritize the community. To keep our members safe, we reserve the right to take immediate, precautionary action – including temporarily or permanently restricting accounts while we investigate safety concerns.
Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, actions may include content removal, warnings, temporary account restrictions, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
Our decisions are made with the safety and well-being of the scuba community in mind. While we strive to be fair and consistent, scuba reserves the right to determine what constitutes a violation of these guidelines and what enforcement action is appropriate in each situation.
Reporting
If you experience or witness behavior that violates these Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it through the app or by contacting our support team at support@scubatheapp.com
We take reports seriously and will handle them with care, discretion, and respect for the privacy of everyone involved.
Appeals
If your account has been restricted, suspended, or removed and you believe the action was made in error, you may submit an appeal for review by emailing our support team at support@scubatheapp.com.
While we are committed to conducting fair reviews, not all enforcement decisions are eligible for reversal. Decisions made following an appeal review may be considered final. Our goal is not simply to enforce rules, but to protect a community built on self-awareness, kindness, respect, and meaningful connection.
